Cross country skiing
Les Saisies Nordic ski area is known as one of the largest Nordic ski areas in France, with more than 120 kilometers of trails winding through forests and glades overlooking Mont Blanc. At an altitude of 1650 meters and thanks to snowfarming, snow cover is guaranteed from mid-November to the end of April. In 1992, the resort hosted the cross-country skiing and biathlon events at the Albertville Winter Olympics. Today, it is the favorite playground of athletes like Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and Julia Simon, who represent the resort on the international biathlon circuit.
Alpine skiing
With 77 kilometers of mostly easy runs, Les Saisies ski area is one of the most accessible to the greatest number of people. But Les Saisies is also the highest and largest resort in the Espace Diamant ski area (created in 2005), which links Hauteluce-Les Saisies to Crest-Voland-Cohennoz, Flumet, Notre-Dame-de- Bellecombe and Praz-sur-Arly. Situated at the foot of Mont-Blanc, between Beaufortain and Val d'Arly, the Espace Diamant ski area offers a total of 192 km of runs at altitudes of between 1,000 and 2,000 meters. This expansive area provides a wide variety of skiing experiences for visitors to enjoy.
Beaufort Cheese Festival
Traditionally organized by the Club des Sports des Saisies, the Beaufort Festival takes place every year on August 15 in the heart of the village, and immerses you in the ancestral traditions of the Beaufortain region. The programm includes a traditional mass, the blessing of the herds, and a parade in period costume. There are also cheese-making demonstrations, dances and folk groups to enjoy. A refreshment bar offers traditional raspberry drinks and old-fashioned coffee, along with the sale of Savoyard bread, Raclette cheese and dry ham tartines.
Mountain twister
At Les Saisies, the must-not-miss activity for your mountain holiday is the rail-mounted luge for all seasons, a stretch that spans for almost 800 meters and offers vertiginous passages up to 8 meters above the ground. This sensational attraction is sure to please even the most daring, with accelerations, banked turns, 360° twists and series of waves, providing an exhilarating experience for all who try it.
Mountain biking
Les Saisies mountain biking area offers 4 downhill trails for all levels, accessible by 3 chairlifts: Bisanne, Chard du Beurre and Légette. Linking up with the Beaufortain and Val d'Arly regions, Les Saisies mountain biking area is a land of adventure and discovery, with 175 km of FFC-certified cross-country itineraries and 5 trails for all levels. Classic or electric bikes can be rented by the day or by the week from a number of stores, and a detailed map of the routes is available to download free of charge from the tourist office website.
Bowling Le Signal
"Le Signal" is the place to be at the end of the day in Les Saisies. Located at the entrance to the village, it offers an aqua-sports center with an aqualudic area, a sports area, a bowling alley with 6 lanes accessible from 6 years old, a bar, games (billiards, arcades and more), entertainment, themed evenings, concerts and sports broadcasts.
