Paret

The Paret is a small wooden sled mounted on an iron runner and equiped with a sloping board for sitting on a foot on each side and a vertical handle for steering. Easy to use and very light, it was traditionally used by children at the beginning of the last century to travel down snow-covered roads to the village school.

The chapel trail

The chapel circuit takes you on a lovely walk over several kilometers to discover the 6 most beautiful chapels in the village of Manigod: Villard-Dessous, Montpellaz, Plan des Berthats, Joux, Tournance and La Charmette. All maintained by the residents of the hamlet, they were built in the Baroque period to protect the inhabitants from the vagaries of the weather and natural disasters. Each one has an exterior information panel explaining its history. Thematic tours are organized every summer to discover the interiors and the richness of this heritage.
